Charterhouse
Summer School

Your summer of transformation starts here.

Charterhouse Summer School offers international students aged 10-17 the chance to experience life at one of Britain’s most prestigious and historic academic institutions. Our courses are a reflection of the values, academic excellence and ambition that define Charterhouse’s year-round education.

Set within an inspiring 240-acre campus just south of London, our positive learning experiences foster confidence, diligence, aspiration and creativity - elevating students towards adult life.

From the Headteacher

“At Charterhouse, we believe in offering pupils a breadth of curricular and extra-curricular opportunity. We encourage our pupils to take an active role in their education, developing their ability to think independently while making the most of every day. Our new summer schools give international students the chance to experience this first-hand. Designed to challenge and inspire just as our year-round education does, our range of summer programmes will deepen students’ knowledge in new and exciting fields while making friends and having fun along the way.”

- Dr Alex Peterken, Headteacher

SUMMER SCHOOL

Programme

The two-week course is structured so that each student selects one academic subject and one elective and studies these for the duration of the course. In addition, every student enjoys an action-packed programme of activities and excursions. We consider this part of the course to be of equal value to the study modules and we take great pride in the calibre of our activities programme.

Electives

The professionally taught electives programme enables students to develop in a fun environment that encourages social interaction and creativity while exploring new topics and developing new skills.

The School

Founded in 1611, Charterhouse is one of the great historic schools of England as well as being one of the most beautiful. We remain one of the UK’s leading independent boarding and day schools, providing an outstanding education for boys and girls aged 13 to 18.

We take pride in the combination of historic buildings and modern facilities at Charterhouse. From state-of-the-art science labs to our ceramics studio, music technology suite, tartan athletics track and climbing wall (to name a few) we have some of the country’s leading school facilities, enabling our pupils to learn skills they may not have a chance to learn anywhere else.
