Electives

Choosing one elective to focus on throughout the course, students enjoy creative enrichment through arts, sports or technology alongside their academic study. Electives run for 2 hours a day, 5 days a week and make up 20 hours of the overall programme. All programmes are for ages 10-17 unless otherwise stated.

 

 

ART

Championing creativity and self-expression, students take inspiration from the beautiful surroundings at Charterhouse School, exploring a range of media, materials and artistic techniques.


ROBOTICS AND GAMES DESIGN (AGES 13-17)

Robotics and Games Design are evergreen technologies rife with continuous innovations. The course uses gamification to bring to life these pioneering areas on technical advancements with fun-filled exercises.


DRAMA (AGES 13-17)

Students work as a group to learn and develop the skills required to create, design, produce and star in a theatre production. A challenging, intense and highly rewarding elective.


SPORTS AND LEADERSHIP

Sports is a vehicle for learning so many valuable life skills and our sports and leadership elective accelerates this by developing confidence and leadership skills through a fun and engaging programme for those with an interest in sport.


TENNIS

A chance to improve on existing tennis skills for those who play tennis regularly. LTA qualified coaches lead sessions on the schools own courts creating a fun and dynamic atmosphere with friendly competition.

 

PHOTOGRAPHY

Learn how to master one of the powerful forms of communication in the modern age. Students develop their skills using a digital SLR camera, exploring composition, light, manual adjustments and picture editing.
