Teaching and Learning

We encourage students to take an active role in their education, developing the confidence to think independently, embrace challenge and question the world around them. Our courses are designed to connect academic learning with the skills, experiences and opportunities of the modern workplace, helping students discover and develop their own passions, interests and ambitions for the future. 

Just as we do with our year-round pupils, we aim to inspire our summer school students to step beyond their comfort zones, reflect on their experiences and take ownership of their personal development. Through academic challenge, meaningful experiences and supportive guidance, we encourage every student to strive for excellence and leave with greater confidence in themselves and their future. 

Academic Vision

Our vision for Charterhouse Summer School is to promote academic rigour, foster intellectual curiosity and inspire students to become confident, independent learners. We encourage students to take an active role in their summer education, think critically and embrace challenge.

The Teaching Team

Our academic curriculum is overseen by Sandip Patel, Director of Entrepreneurship at Charterhouse and Head of Summer School Academics. Drawing on the expertise, experience and facilities available at Charterhouse, the curriculum reflects the School’s wider academic philosophy, while being specifically designed to encourage curiosity, independent thinking and a passion for learning. 

Teaching is delivered by a dedicated team of our year-round faculty, alongside carefully selected external experts who bring specialist knowledge and real-world experience into the classroom. This combination provides students with both academic depth and opportunities to explore how their learning connects to the world beyond school. 

To enrich the experience further, students engage with inspirational leaders and professionals through interactive workshops, seminars and discussions. These experiences encourage students to ask questions, challenge their thinking and gain insights into different pathways, careers and possibilities for their future.
