Student Welfare & Safeguarding

Student safety, wellbeing and inclusion are at the heart of our summer school. We take a proactive, preventative approach to safeguarding, designed to notice the small things, respond early and ensure every student has the support they need to thrive.

Any additional needs shared through our Student Welfare Form are carefully reviewed before arrival and, where appropriate, inform personalised transition support to help students settle confidently into camp. Every student is allocated a pastoral leader who checks in with them twice daily using our Zones of Regulation approach, helping us identify concerns early and provide timely support.

Our summer school operates within our TEAMS Code of Conduct, with clear shared expectations that students understand from the outset. We want every student to feel safe, respected and included, while also encouraging them to contribute positively to our community.

Our robust welfare and safeguarding systems ensure that concerns and observations are recorded, reviewed and appropriately managed. Oversight is provided by our highly qualified Designated Safeguarding Leads on site, supported by our specialist Head of Safeguarding. We foster a listening culture where students are encouraged to speak up, and where appropriate adjustments and support are put in place to meet individual needs.
